“The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles.”

Publisher’s Note: I had been on a tear to complete ProfCJ’s Dangerous History Podcast (stopped temporarily at #160) and got sidetracked by a recommendation to listen to Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History six-part series on World War [Part] One in six very long episodes. It is worth the slog to get through it. I have found it very compelling. His episodes can run three hours but it makes a commute to work useful. Highly recommended.
My keynote speech at Porcfest in 2012 still resonates.
Less than 650 shopping days until the next empty suit and its Deep State handlers slithers into the Offal Office. -BB
As a weapons owner in America, you are a negro living in the politically violent Democrat-dominated south at the turn of the twentieth century and that is quickly metastasizing into a variant of the Jew [Slav, homosexual, gypsy, on and on] in National Socialist Germany or a Ukrainian farmer in the 1930s USSR. You are being targeted for wishing to peacefully practice the most fundamental right in human volition, armed self defense.
The red flag laws are now allowing the badged Orcs to seize your weapons before you have committed a crime. Miss McConnell is gleefully crafting a national law that will do just that in the Grand Old Politburo dominated US Senate (an ambulatory wax museum for reanimated communists). They are, like the drug prohibition regime, a quick compromise of any existing rights one may have to be safe in your person and property from the depradations of the state.
Thank the Gods that wood-chippers, carpentry tools (hammers and clubs have killed more people than rifles per annum according to the Uniform Crime Report, 467 people were killed with “blunt objects (hammers, clubs, etc.),” while 403 were killed were rifles in 2017. Vehicles haven’t been used in mass killings with frequency in the US …yet. Of course, it would be fascinating to hear the indignant urinalists berating the penchant for hammer violence or woodchipper violence or car violence but that clunky phraseology is limited to the awkward notion of “gun violence”; does that mean that a rash of hangings by suicide is rope violence?
As a matter of fact, almost ten times as many children die in buckets every year than rifles deaths across the board for all age groups.
Much like the imperial conditioning for unlimited searches brought to you by the living dead in the TSA and the multi-billion dollar “drunk driving” pre-crime scam across the fetid plain. The list of malum prohibitum crimes in which the only victim is the state are legion and may be ninety percent of all laws on the Federal register.
Billll’s Idle Mind ran a very interesting excerpt from a weapons rights newsletter in Colorado. The violence brokers there occupying the august halls of the CO State House (what a delicious turn of phrase, of course it is) have again passed a rather Orwellian pre-crime treasure trove posing as law and justice.
Books have killed many more millions of people than guns have in the history of mankind especially in the last six generations since the Marxian software virus has liberated the communist dark passenger to build corpse piles to the stars. What if one were to substitute the term book or car or hairbrush or hammer in the legislation instead of gun? A man gets a divorce and has all his power tools or lawn implements seized so he doesn’t potentially harm someone. Most thinking humans (a minority in America, I know) would think that absurd and silly.
There is one reason the government supremacists always go after weapons in private hands and it has nothing to do with private weapons violence. Power. You will note there are no impassioned clarion calls to disarm the largest existential murderer of all time, government.
So here is the excerpt, my comments are not italicized:
1) Your status as a gun-owner/concealed-carrier needs to be a secret. Most relatives, co-workers, neighbors, even friends don’t need to know. Don’t talk about specific guns you may own, particularly military rifles. Maintain a low profile. Find other things to talk about!
The first rule of gun club is don’t talk about gun club. I have to constantly remind myself of this little gem.
2) Guns you own need to be adequately secured, and always out of sight. Ammunition boxes, loose rounds of ammunition, gun magazines and other literature, holsters, rifle magazines, accessories, etc need also to be kept continuously out of sight. Casual visitors to your home, office, car should never see any of that!
You should start spreading the wealth to different locations.
3) Get rid of gun-company/ammunition-company/pro-gun organization decals, patches, logo clothing, hats, bumper-stickers.
I have a Grateful Dead sticker and a ‘Stan Alumnus sticker on the back of my car.
4) Watch your language and general demeanor, in public and in private! Don’t do, nor say, things that are likely to be interpreted as threats. Don’t make threatening comments, even when directed at a third party who is not present.
The Gentleman’s Code is to talk smack to a man’s face in private and sing his praises behind his back. If one follows this notion, you will rarely get caught in the handbag fights that erupt from serial gossipers and other women of both sexes.
5) Don’t become involved in family, nor neighborhood, spats, particularly those involving marriage issues, child custody, etc. Be very good at minding you own business!
Slaves take great comfort in rationalizing their shackles and a lifetime of obedience rarely liberates the caged mind. Jonathan Swift: “It is useless to attempt to reason a man out of a thing he was never reasoned into.”
6) Don’t invite people you don’t know into your home, including police officers (unless they have a warrant). With your door remaining closed and locked, you can talk with unknown/uninvited visitors through a microphone.
Don’t ever talk to the police nor their fellators.
7) Keep the subject of guns and gun issues out of casual conversation. Talk about guns only with people you know well.
See the first rule of gun club […and I ain’t perfect by any stretch but getting better and better all the time). I will often discuss engineering, history and jazz and that winnows people out as they roll their eyes and wander away.
8) Gun-organization literature, flyers, etc need to be shredded immediately after you finish reading them. Tear off address-labels on gun magazines and shred them too. You don’t want your residence address associated/connected with guns, nor gun-organizations.
I shred anything with my name on it and all gun related ephemera goes in the same bin.
9) When carrying concealed, assure guns, magazine-carriers, etc remain discretely out of sight. Open-carry, even where technically “legal,” is a really bad idea (except perhaps in extremely remote places)!
Like Herschel at The Captain’s Journal, I am big fan of OC so I am conflicted on this.
10) Don’t make enemies! Be a polite, civil, pleasant, courteous person. Don’t inject yourself into other people’s business.
Always, always be a gentleman. We live in an infantilized society that incentivizes the stripping of masculinity from every enterprise in society. Simply don’t comply in a polite manner.
Teach your children well and prepare for the coming Endarkenment.
It’s coming…
Good post. Thanks.

I absolutely loved Dan Carlin’s podcast on WW1, Blueprint for Armageddon, I also loved the one on the the Wrath of the Khans. Excellent storytelling.
All good bullet points (pun intended). And to add to the author’s good advice, I would like to mention an old saying : “Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.” By this I’m recommending that, if you have the means, then store part of your guns and ammo in one location, and the other portion in a suitably far off location. Better yet, a property which is not known to everyone in your life. If you have a Summer cabin, campsite, family farm, remote undeveloped acreage, or a even good, trustworthy friend or relative with a suitable property…then at least store a few guns, ammo and spare stuff there. The why is obvious – if you should lose your guns by confiscation, fire, theft etc.. then you will at least have something to fall back on. I mean, you wouldn’t put all your money in one bank, nor all your money in one stock or other investment…so why risk your guns and your ability to defend yourself? An added benefit is the peace of mind one gains…knowing that no matter what, you will always be able to arm yourself.
I OC’d for years (Arizona, then New Mexico). Then one day decided it would be better if it were a surprise to the bad guy. Out of habit, I am still quite protective of my gun side..
I have no problem with open carriers. In fact, it is comforting to see them out and about. But times, they are a-changing, and not for the good.
#5 – I find it amazing at how much trouble one can still get into, even when minding their own business.
In California come July 1st, 2019 you will have to provide fingerprints and pay a background check fee each time you buy ammo. I bought enough in recent months to last an amount of time for this law to wind its way up to the Supremes and be struck down. I can hardly wait to see the commie CA legislature eat dirt on this one!
Opt out of ALL literature from vendors you may have purchased from. I get my neighbors mail all the time. When I started to wonder whom had received mine in error I got nervous
It’s not COMING, it’s already HERE. Been here, too.
Fifteen years ago I got kicked out of a job by a bunch of gay and feminist shitlibs. In the process they started “inventing” dirt on me just to ensure they would get me one way or the other. One of the things they did was to call the cops on me because they knew I was a hunter and a 2A guy and said that they were “afraid” that I “might” have guns in my vehicle , which was legally prohibited.
One evening there was a knock on my office door and it was the cops, investigating “information we received” and asking if I had been bringing any guns to work… which of course I had not been. I almost shit a brick. Right then I knew I was being set up by these people and they they would go to any length to screw me.
The “knock on the door” is REAL, folks. You’re never ready for when it happens and you’ll never say the Pledge or be deluded that you live in the “free country” after it does…
Yes ! Run! Hide ! Surrender your rights without a struggle. Never let the Nazi know that you are a Jew. If you are a big enough coward they might take you last. Then you can be a capo in the camps. Be afraid. Never talk back or insist that your rights be honored. Above all never take up your arms and (GASP) fight for your freedom. Turn your arms in to the police. They are useless to you. You already have a slave mind. May the chains rest lightly on your children. May your children and there children forget your name lest they curse you into hell. Useless as a man. If you ever were one. Go from us. It is better that we die in small bands or alone. Than to die with creatures like you claiming to be our brother.
We do know that the jews declared war on Germany in 1933, ja?
In other news, utilizing the subscription cards found in nra publications to sign up your neighborhood marxist can help to spread theabove love, don’cha know.
Buppert, your lead in to this essay is one of the worst you’ve written. I’m a southern nationalist, you’re way off base.
Pat,
The floor is yours to defend all the lynching, Jim Crow laws, disarmament laws, segregation and other Democratic proto-marxian political nonsense you wish after the political vermin in the north bested the south. History is a bastard when it can’t be white-washed (pun intended). There is no government on Earth that doesn’t lead to loss of liberty. Lincoln was a communard but there is no doubt That Davis and his minions mimicked the North in a way that guaranteed liberty was the last thing on their mind. I defend neither side in the horrific War of Northern Aggression.
if you’re coming here to promote nationalism, you’ll be sorely disappointed, I am an individualist because nationalism simply leads to slavery in all its permutations, whether chattel, regulatory or tax. In the broader sense, war is alawys an armed dispute between plantation owners and in this case Lincoln merely wanted to get a leasehold on the southern plantations that threatened to leave. Like all amendments, the 13A dissolved chattel slavery and the 14A put us all on a more sophisticated plantation for Lincoln and his succeeding zookeepers.

1. This is likely to be the hardest one for me and for many others. Even Mr. Buppert admits to having to remind himself frequently. For anyone who grew up in gun culture, this is tantamount to giving up a habit, like smoking (no, I don’t smoke, but you get the point). It’ll be a conscious effort and your ego may have to take a backseat on occasion.
2. This may also be hard, especially if you’ve got a large amount of guns, or ammo or other paraphernalia. It’s not easy to keep it all away from view, but as the post says, maybe distribute it all around. Could include some outlying caches. See? Being gray isn’t so boring if you get to have a “cache”.
3. This shouldn’t be that difficult if your ego is mature. Be aware of non-gun related paraphernalia that could still tip people off. I usually wear a multicam ball cap. That alone might be enough to flag me.
4. Don’t be an ass.
5. Don’t act like a woman.
6. Anyone you invite into your house is either very close to you on a personal level, or they are casing the place. That’s it. One or the other. Just because they’re not (always) casing it for burglary, doesn’t mean they’re not casing it.
7. See part 1 above.
8. A lot of the gun publications these days are crap anyways. I wish Mel Tappan’s old column was more easily found.
9. I too am a fan of open carry (OC) and I will debate you on that issue if you are inclined (and there I am breaking rule number one). However, OC is obviously not gray. That I won’t disagree with. What I will debate anyone on is the merits of OC in some situations. Sometimes OC is a good thing.
There is no reason to believe that any gun forum, including this website, is not under Surveillance.
Draw your line in the sand and stand your ground. Make them understand that oppression has a price. You will not be compensated for your actions. But your actions send a message.
You have a moral obligation to defend the Constitution if you swore an oath.
Defend it.
It’s only common sense, sorely lacking nowadays it seems, to keep your damned mouth shut and mind your own business. Agreed, any blowhard that gets the nick deserves it, in my opinion. But all of the pussies that hide their weapons, they won’t use them when the time comes, they’ll line up like little sheep and march to the tune of their masters like the sackless cretins they are.. sadly all those hidden and buried “instruments of freedom” will continue to be buried and hidden only to be discovered by later generations who will wonder at the cowardice of free men of generations past……
I agree with most of that. I’m torn on the open carry thing too. Personally, I am a fan of being ‘allowed’ to open carry, as any free person has the inherent right to carry the weapon of their choosing in a manner of their choosing. But, I don’t and will not actually do it, even though it’s allowed where I live. It’s not a worry about offending people or any of that. They can fuck right off. I’d just prefer no one know I’m armed. I have no desire to go everywhere carrying a long gun either. I’m usually carrying a kid anyways, wouldn’t really work.
Any article which defends the 2A by using jewish victimhood and african victimhood is at best not aware of the bigger problem and potentially covering for it.
Africans are 13% of pop and 52% violent crime. They probably were doing better in pre slave US than being free on the African Continent.
And Jews are 2% and even worse in ways you can’t even imagine. One being the aforementioned statistic about Africans is hidden while European and Caucasian crime is trotted out and demonized via their media.

You’re right, I can’t imagine. There is shockingly a much smaller number within that 13% that are responsible for that 52% you speak of. The system in fact, especially at the juvenile ages, takes care to recycle them quickly back into society without punishment so as to encourage the development of the mindset. The system and the so called music industry are the biggest drivers of the gangster/HipHop mind set. They are a culture within a culture. And they are a problem, for everyone, because they are charmed by the Marxist rhetoric and are not opposed to violence not committed against them.
I have been following that course just as good practice.
1) My wife and I are retired and see very few people. Fewer still come by our home, and almost nobody gets in. About the only people I dialog with are gun people.
2) Yup. Nothing in sight. Something discretely available.
3) No signage on any of our rolling stock clothing, or home. I have an NRA Instructor’s hat for those times when it’s appropriate,
4) An armed society is a polite society. I go armed, therefore it is imperative that I conduct myself in such a manner as to avoid giving offense. A flipped finger or a parking space is not even worth getting pissed off over.
5) Yup. MYOB is a great principle to live by. We stay out of the little squabbles that that occur in our bucolic cul-de-sac, speak ill of no one, and keep a tidy yard.
6) Door is locked unless we are out in the front yard. I am ALWAYS armed. we can speak through the window next to the door. Default condition re police is “I don’t wish to answer any questions” and “Yes I DO mind if you look around. Buh-bye.”
7) Nearly all of the people we know are gunnies.
8) Yup many times over.
9) I like having the option to OC for those times when you have to reach up to the top shelf or the wind blows your shirt open. I have OC’d once that I remember, and that was a quick run to the neighborhood store for refreshments during yard work and didn’t wish to bother with a cover garment. No riot or affray ensued.
10) I try to treat everyone with respect and good will. Aside from avoiding trouble, you never know whose help you might need, so be nice to everybody and carry in Cond. 1.
I have a really twisted view of masculinity. I believe that it is ignoble and unmanly to abuse wimmen (womyn?), children, the elderly, animals, etc. – Well you get the picture. A man should reflect a gentle demeanor (hence a gentleman) as defined by kindness to other people and critters, and a reticence to do any unnecessary harm. This does not preclude the ability or willingness to invoke Clang!, Honk!, Tweet!, or BOOM!! if and as req’d.
Where victim disarmament is concerned, it was the communist jews who invaded Russia, like Bronstein aka “Trotsky” and their ilk that viciously disarmed the Russian people and others who fell under their evil domination.
It was also the communist leaning post WW1 German government aka the ‘Weimar Republic’ that enacted severe anti-gun laws in Germany, NOT Hitler.

Amen to what Bill said.
Bill, here is an interesting piece I think you will like. Lot of correlation, lot of connections, lot of the so termed deep state repeating itself on the generational scale. They do not like being defied by us Freemen. Everytime it really sets the fuckers back. That tells you the legitimacy of Freemen and our Liberty and primal right to throw off their chains of slavery they keep trying to put around our necks.
Tough shit.
They can go pound sand.
BFYTW
Time to go back to basics before the Conspiracy in Philadelphia took root, That con-steetoo-shun-al administrative centralized tyranny model is an unmitigated disaster. Of biblical proportions. Lot of dirt people got a splinter in their minds something is wrong, and are beginning to grok why.
The sonofabitches now this zeitgeist is underway. If they have their way, will never permit us Freemen from seceding from their clutches without a fight. A bloody conflict seems inevitable regarding who and what they are, and our Liberty, and their generational tyranny by economic permanent state being what it is and whats at stake. And our natural rights. It’s setting up to be a real doozy of a fight. Might it be the third times the charm?
The police state gearing up to stop us is but a mere outer cellophane thin wrap of the layers of tyranny arrayed to keep us slaves to their state. In the greater sphere, easy to slice through and shred to pieces. Though a little tough at first, once it begins that police state will fold. Nothing is like fighting for ones family, property, life and Liberty when it comes to motive power, a certain defining audacity that lends itself extremely well to the warrior spirit of grass roots citizen iunsurgency warrior-ship.
The mice that roared will do so again.
As it’s said, the 3rd time’s the charm. It is always and only the purview of the dirt people to effect positive change in this world for ourselves.. Besides there is no one else. We are it. And there is nothing else for it. Unless you want to be a slave to the state. But there is things in the wind. The worm is turning. Faust is calling in his bargains, there’s a bill coming due for those pieces of silver. And nothing, not you, not me, not anyone can change whats coming. What we can do is fight. And us Freemen of The West are exceedingly good at it, we will once again understand as men what an axe, a shovel, and a rifle are for, as in learning once again to love the battle axe. The proof is all around us. They want to not only proscribe our rifle’s, more important they want to outlaw us as Men.
In fact the mice started tuning up it’s roar under that dry wash overpass in Nevada and up in Burns Oregon. They really fucked up when they executed LeVoy. The fact it was a clown show, they needed to mobilize basically a regiment of armed badged leg breakers and the resources of 4 different police state agencies, to stop one Rancher from outing dangerous truths says it all: it is always difficult at first to wrench the hands from the levers of power, but once it begins, they all start to fold, a trait such clowns all hold in common.
Besides Bill, they are scared shitless of us Freemen. Terrified, regardless of the bravado of police state stance and illusion of power.
A point often missed by many. If we were not existentially dangerous, even as a relatively tiny legion of men who will never bend their knee, the leviathan would not be working tirelessly to stop us from our Liberty and Sovereign existence.
In anycase, this is a great read. I’m sure you are cognizant of much more of what it contains than I am. Certainly thought of you the moment I began reading it.

If I were a parent with young children I’d understand this. But for everyone else, is this how free men and women are to live? Do we just hide and hope that there is never a knock on our door? Live like Jews in Nazi Germany? Is simply surviving everything? It that the endgame?

NorthGunner – The Truth Is It’s OWN Defense!
NorthGunner, I asked 5 simple questions and you (and everyone) did not answer one of them. Let’s try again with just the 3rd question. Are we to live like how we are told Jews lived in Nazi Germany?
I am a revisionist historian but I do not subscribe to any nonsense that boosts the credibility or moral gravity of any communist, national socialist, socialist or other government supremacist nonsense. Any government that has any regulation of the private ownership of weapons is morally forfeit in my mind.
As far as taking a narrow swath of humanity and characterizing taxonomically by religion or ethnicity doesn’t pass the sniff test. If I am to believe the fill in the blank of the identified malefactor matters, does that mean that if we were to click our heels and they disappear, all of sudden all government malfeasance would vanish? Of course not. All power attracts the corruptible and absolute power attracts even worse.
For those of you interested in chasing these phantoms, there are millions of websites that cater to that fear and loathing.
” Guns you own need to be adequately secured, and always out of sight. Ammunition boxes, loose rounds of ammunition, gun magazines and other literature, holsters, rifle magazines, accessories, etc need also to be kept continuously out of sight. Casual visitors to your home, office, car should never see any of that!”
– I can recall as a child that several of my friend’s fathers had their rifles proudly displayed in very fine “gun cabinets” (heirloom furniture) for any visitor to see. Their Winchester ’73s and ’92s were objects of pride along with their bolt guns and as you can guess, this gives you an idea of my age because this was an era when trust and common sense still prevailed to a great degree. But those times are long gone and with the arrival of the technocracy that we live under, we no longer have neighbors we can trust and privacy is non existant
“Your status as a gun-owner/concealed-carrier needs to be a secret.”
– I have ruminated on the advantages/disadvantages of being a “licensed” (CCH) for some time now. The problem that I see coming in the future is at some point, TPTB will want EVERYONE’S guns (unless you are “politically connected”) and having that license or permit will only serve as a GPS marker to your front door. In some instances, anti-gun groups have used FOI lawsuits to attempt to identify licensed private citizens in order to “dox” them later. I am not saying you should not have a CCH, I am saying that it may be a disadvantage in the future.
“2) Guns you own need to be adequately secured, and always out of sight. Ammunition boxes, loose rounds of ammunition, gun magazines and other literature, holsters, rifle magazines, accessories, etc need also to be kept continuously out of sight. Casual visitors to your home, office, car should never see any of that!”
– So true, but it goes further than that; classics of gun literature like Phil Sharpe’s works on reloading and others on gunsmithing are all going to be “red flag warning signs” to be trotted out in court by social workers who spotted them on your bookshelf while visiting your home when they were checking up on your grandson;s “health and welfare”, while you were babysitting for your daughter.
You asked an interesting question early in your blog entry:
“What if one were to substitute the term book or car or hairbrush or hammer in the legislation instead of gun? A man gets a divorce and has all his power tools or lawn implements seized so he doesn’t potentially harm someone. Most thinking humans (a minority in America, I know) would think that absurd and silly.”
Perhaps most thinking humans would not think that absurd or silly if you were to substitute “machine tools”, for car or hairbrush because following the confiscation of firearms and the banning of the sale of ammunition, that is what will logically follow. TPTB will want to follow up on the elimination of weapons to the public with the elimination of the means of production of said weapons as well.
“Your status as a gun-owner/concealed-carrier needs to be a secret. Most relatives, co-workers, neighbors, even friends don’t need to know. Don’t talk about specific guns you may own, particularly military rifles. Maintain a low profile. Find other things to talk about!”
– All of it very good advice. These are times unlike any other that we have been through in our country and require that we learn to adjust accordingly. I would only add : ” a secret is something that only one person knows about”.
I seem to recall a rather famous person who said something to the effect…Three people can keep a secret if two of them are dead.

I agree with the risk management suggestions at face value. However…..
Without knowing your ‘go’ point – the point at which you will refuse to comply and scale force to defend the Constitution – including using deadly force or supporting those that do, the above points devolve to Gun Cuckery if left without that counterbalance.
I also agree with Ray above which I repost below:
“Yes ! Run! Than to die with creatures like you claiming to be our brother.”
Jebediah,
But then again, who am I to have any ability to tell you how to conduct your own affairs and take your own decisions? Sort of goes against the grain for an individualist website. None of my business.
Bill
Thanks for the reply Bill,
Yea….i see where you’re going…..do what you want and all. I get it.
My point is to point out the Achilles heel/blindspot for those that may not see it. To go there is deep, dangerous and very emotionally uncomfortable/untenable for socially adjusted individuals. I say this from personal experience. And it’s an individual choice to move forward with it or not.
Again, thanks for the reply and the risk management tools in your article.
Cheers.
Jebediah
Do not order cleaning supplies, reloading equipment, etc. from Amazon or any mail order, even from sites you trust. The records are retained forever. Use a cut out, say a trusted small local gun store and pay cash. Do not buy using a credit/debit card or check. Money orders from the US Post Office will have you on video, their video retention time is unknown but sure to be quite a while so fedgov can research stuff that went boom. Money orders from a grocery store will be on security video but as long as there is no robbery will probably be trashed in a few weeks or months.
I remove and burn all personally identifying material from anything that goes in the trash.
Young children are a vulnerability. They can be questioned by a “trusted” adult (teacher, principal, SRO; the law won’t stand in their way, they have a higher loyalty) without a parent present. Children are also vulnerable to playground taunts where they can blurt out, “Well MY dad has 14 guns and is a great shot!”
I have not seen any media make note of security video AI (really neural net) recognition of open carriers but it would be so simple, Once an open carrier is found then permanent records are triggered and facial recognition used. Video doorbells: Ring doorbell is owned by Amazon and everyone that approaches a Ring is recorded and sent to Amazon, with their wonderful (not) server security, crappy facial recognition, and known fedgov cooperation.
Good advice but I am too far gone to be off that radar…
